MAJOR 2007 ELITE 8 NEWS: MARTINEZ,
ALICIA In Charge, First Entrants Announced, Original Diva SUNNY To
Ref Finals!!! WXW is proud to
announce that the 6th Annual Elite 8 Womens Tournament will be held
on November 10th, 2007 at the Mountainville Memorial Hall in
Allentown, PA. For the past six years, WXW has set the
standards for womens wrestling in the nation and has paved the way
for many of the current all women leagues that now exist throughout
the country. The first tournament, held in Connecticut in 2002,
produced a winner who is undeniably the most successful winner in
the tourament's history in Traci Brooks. Miss Brooks got her
start in the United States with WXW and her career took off since
that fateful day in 2002, culminating when she signed a contract
with Total Nonstop Action during the first year of the company's
existence. To this day, she is still under contract with TNA
and is one of the few roster members who have been with them since
the beginning. Other women have also been involved in the
tournament who have gone to "the big time" including former WWE
Womens Champion Gail Kim (participating in the first tournament as
La Felina), WWE Superstar Beth Phoenix, Nikki Roxx (now known to TNA
fans as Roxy Laveaux), current WWE Developmental Talent Krissy
Vaine, former WWE Developmental Talent Angel Williams, and
independent sensation and former WXW Womens & Cruiserweight Champion
Mercedes Martinez. Who will participate in the 6th annual
tournament? Who's career will be launched with the passing of
November 10th? And who will represent the WXW Womens League
for the next year as the Elite 8 Champion? The only way to
find out is to be in Allentown on November 10th and stay tuned to
elite8.wxwwrestling.com for more information on the participants!
